Pin & Stretch

Pin & Stretch is a technique used in deep tissue and sports massage. This technique is highly effective in treating issues with muscle, tendon, ligament, and fascia.

Pin & Stretch identifies specific areas that the body has overused and where scar tissue has built up from repetitive injury.

This method of therapy involves shortening the muscle length by pinning the muscle, then

taking the muscle through a full range of motion.

This Technique can be applied passively by your therapist or actively with the assistance of the client. To place a “Pin” you must first locate the belly of the muscle. The pin stops the stretch force applied from spreading to the rest of the muscle beyond the pinpoint. Therefore, the technique applied will be concentrated on the region that is pinpointed and movement is applied

After receiving the massage nerve conduction will improve, as well as blood and lymph flow to help increase the healing process of the body and improve performance. Moving the muscle while pinned increases the stretch and helps restore proper muscle length
